Smithey No. 12 Dual Handle Skillet

Smithey No. 12 Dual Handle Skillet - Main image
$220 In stock

Category: Bakeware & Cookware

A dual-handle skillet that makes you wonder why all skillets don't have two handles. Sear on the stovetop, finish in the oven and serve at the table—just don’t forget your kitchen mitts.

Why we love it:
- Two handles make it easier to lift, pour and serve
- Pre-seasoned and made from extra smooth cast iron that is naturally a better non-stick than others you may have used in the past
- We’re envisioning inviting 5-6 friends over and making a frittata for brunch.

Details:
- Dimensions: 15” x 12” x 2”; Cook Surface: 10”
- Weight: 7.75 lb
- Material: Cast iron
- Made in South Carolina

Care:
- Use it frequently—the oil from cooking keeps it healthy
- Clean with warm water (a few drops of dish soap won't hurt either!)
- Dry thoroughly and wipe the entire piece with a touch of cooking oil
- For stubborn food, use a metal spatula or nylon scouring pad
- Avoid heavy scrubbing

Finished a whole chicken in this thing—seared it on the burner, then straight into the oven, and the dual handles made hauling it out and serving at the table feel effortless. The cast iron holds heat so evenly that the skin came out crackly and the meat stayed juicy. Just wish I'd bought it sooner.

I was skeptical about the extra handle but it genuinely makes moving this from stovetop to oven so much easier, especially when it's full. The skillet sears beautifully and goes right to the table without a fuss, though I've learned to keep the mitts close by.

The dual handles are the game-changer—I can actually carry this thing full of food without burning my forearms, and it goes straight from the stovetop into the oven without any fuss. Served right at the table last night and the guests were impressed, though I did warn everyone about the mitts before
