The hand-splinted sides give it a nice rustic texture that actually looks good sitting out on the counter. I've been using it for fruit and it holds a surprising amount without sagging.

Picked one up for the bread basket on our table and it's become the default for fruit too. The hand-woven splint feels sturdy enough for daily use, and it hasn't snagged or frayed after a few weeks.

Bought two of these for serving bread at dinner and they've basically taken over my counter. The handcrafted splint weave holds up to daily fruit duty without sagging, and the maple tone warms up the whole table.
