Never scrape hard butter over toast again.

Ah, the joy of smooth, oh so spreadable butter. Transport this delight out of your French countryside fantasies and into your real life kitchen with a countertop butter keeper. This 19th century invention is made modern by Asheville glass artist Hayden Wilson. It keeps butter fresh for several weeks at room temperature and is stunning stoveside.

How to use:

Fill the bell-shaped piece with butter and the bottom cup-shaped piece with a bit of cold water to protect your butter from light and oxygen. Change the water once or twice a week.

Details:

  • Dishwasher safe, but we recommend washing by hand with warm, soapy water
  • Made in Asheville, NC

Penelope ★★★★★

The ceramic crock keeps a stick of butter soft enough to spread straight from the fridge-chilled kitchen, even on cold mornings. Filling the water reservoir takes ten seconds and now my toast never gets torn up.

Olivia L. ★★★★★

I was skeptical about leaving butter out on the counter, but this little crock keeps it perfectly spreadable without going rancid. The water seal actually works, and now my morning toast doesn't end up shredded.

Took me a day to figure out the water level, but once I did, the butter stayed soft enough to spread straight from the fridge. Only gripe is you have to change the water every few days or it gets a little funky.
