Just because it’s called “silverware” doesn’t mean it has to be gray. Or boring!

In 1993, Francis Gelb opened Sabre Paris, intent on offering cutlery and serving pieces in unexpected colors and shapes made with the highest quality materials and craft (he’s from a family of metalsmiths, where he learned the meticulousness it takes). In other words, he challenged what timelessness could be, expanding the parameters to make room for a little fun.

This bistrot set is the epitome of the Sabre Paris spirit and an invitation to let a favorite color inspire how you set the table.

The colored handles on these actually make me want to set the table instead of just grabbing whatever's clean. Forks have a nice weight without feeling clunky in your hand. Three weeks in and no fading or chipping through the dishwasher.

I bought these for my morning coffee and they've completely changed the vibe of my kitchen table — the color is so much more fun than plain gray cutlery. The weight feels substantial in hand without being clunky, which I wasn't expecting from flatware.

The colors are absolutely what sold me—I picked the bright yellow set and they instantly make my plain table feel like a little café. The fork and spoon have a nice weight to them, not flimsy at all, and the shape is more playful than the usual boring flatware I've been using for years.
