With this naturally nonstick, heirloom-quality skillet, we see beautiful egg scrambles and perfect steak sears in your future.

A genuine “farmhouse” skillet, inspired by American blacksmith design of the 18th and 19th century, the Smithey 12” carbon steel skillet is as much of a work of art as it is a cooking tool. Limited in nature and forged by hand, each Farmhouse Skillet is crafted by an artisan blacksmith in Charleston, SC. Each piece is unique. Carbon steel cookware is lightweight, hard-wearing, and conducts heat faster and more evenly than pretty much any other similar material. It's more versatile and easier to maneuver than cast iron, and way more durable than stainless steel, copper, and regular "non stick" cookware. Great for flipping cheesy omelettes, sauteeing veggies, or searing and cooking proteins of choice. Take it camping! Take it from the stove top to the broiler! The world is your oyster.

  • Handmade In Charleston, SC
  • Diameter (top): 12” Handle to Handle: 20.5”
  • Naturally nonstick, ultra lightweight
  • Suitable for use on gas, induction, glasstop, ceramic, and electric stovetops.
  • Also safe for open fires and oven use.
  • Care: Light wash with warm water. If food remnants are stubborn, a soft scrape with a metal spatula, or a touch of dish soap and a nylon scouring pad will work. Avoid heavy-pressure scrubbing. It is important to thoroughly dry after each use.

I've had mine for a month and the seasoning just keeps getting better—eggs slide around like glass now. The weight feels substantial, but that's exactly what you want for a pan that'll outlive you. It's already become my go-to for searing steaks.

The handle stays cool enough that I didn't grab a mitt once while flipping pancakes, and cleanup is just a quick wipe under hot water. It's already developing that smooth, dark patina after a week of heavy use, and my scrambled eggs slide right off without a drop of oil.

Cooked my first steak in it last night and the crust came out perfect, no sticking at all. You can feel the blacksmith-inspired craftsmanship in the weight and the way it heats so evenly.
