The weight of this thing is what sold me — it doesn't slide around when I set a hot skillet on it. I got the larger size and it fits my biggest dutch oven with room to spare.

Didn't realize how much I needed this until my scorching hot dutch oven stopped leaving ring marks on the wood table. The cast iron is heavy enough that it doesn't slide around when I'm serving, which I appreciate. Small thing, but it just lives on the table now.
